It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was removed Australia required another 66 at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she later admitted those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
